After the fight with the bearded devil, the party pressed on without any rest. Soon enough, the forest suddenly flared up on all sides, fire even converging over the Elfroad and trees tumbling onto the road to block they way ahead. Behind them a wall of fire appears and slowly advances upon the heroes.
Crystin suddenly swoons through one of her premonitions, mumbling about a dragon head and screaming to get away from a certain spot. Clever as they are, all the party makes room in time to escape a mighty spear of fire crashing down into that very spot. As the sparks settled, three stags of fire appeared in the middle of the group attacking them.
Eventually the party defeated the stags, and a great head of fire, looking a bit like a dragon with a crown of horns, appears. Its voice thundering in the heroes heads it demands them to free its body from where it’s held, in a lake in the forest. Those in the party that agree to help feel fire surging through their veins and when the pain subsides, they can tell that they are now immune to the forest’s heat (not it’s fire). In the end, Grayson Vander Stone, Flint Darkstaff, Laini and Lyvtenanna agreed to the bargain, while the rest did not agree.
To get some rest, the party continued down the road to a bridge with a watchtower where they spoke “friend” to enter. After looting a pair of former guards that appeared to have died of starvation rather then the fire the looked through the rest of the tower and found a notebook with a diary as well as a map of a nearby town with miniature figures to plan defenses.
Finally, Grayson failed to open a locked door at the foot of a starcase to the top level.
